Overview The Alburtis Borough Police Department, in conjunction with the Alburtis Elementary School, is presenting a drug and violence education and prevention program titled D.A.R.E. at the school.
The acronym D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. The aim of the program is to equip youth with the skills to resist the peer pressures of experimenting with and the use of harmful drugs.
One of the unique features of the D.A.R.E. program is the use of Police Officers as instructors in the classroom. This has helped to forge a positive relationship between officers and youth of the community.
